Linking Indiana has been around for about 1.5 years. In that time, we've grown a lot, but givent that I don't have a ton of time, this site has been limited by the platform it runs on. Linking Indiana runs on Joomla 1.5, which is a great content management system, but just isn't a strong enough in the social and conetnt sharing department. Add to that the fact that it takes Joomla plus about 18 plug-ins to provide this level of functionality, I've decided the time has come to move on from Joomla.
So, sometime in February, this site will relaunch. When it does, it will be based on WordPressMU + BuddyPress. This will give Linking Indiana a little better feature set, especially for our Opinion Leaders and Guest bloggers. When we re-launch, I'm hoping that people wanting to reach Hoosiers with high quality content, useful events and great ideas find Linking Indiana to be an effective platform for doing so.

 Linking Indiana is more than just this website and our newsletter. We also have created several professional groups on LinkedIn to help local professionals find one another. In the past few weeks, one of our groups, Indiana IT Pros has taken off with a surge in new members, increased participation in group discussions and job postings.
